Home fragrances

There’s more to home décor than colour schemes and furnishings. As well as being visually appealing, our homes have to smell like home, with aromas that evoke emotions, spark memories and influence our mood. Decorating for the senses encourages us to unleash the power of fragrances in order to uplift mood, create ambience and trigger positive sensations. Scented candles, for example, not only create an intimate atmosphere thanks to their gently flickering flames, but their aroma also sparks feelings of relaxation and wellbeing.

Whilst some scents are relaxing, like lavender, camomile, jasmine, incense, myrrh, orange, mandarin and ylang-ylang, others stimulate our senses and energise us, like citrus lemon and grapefruit, cinnamon, geranium, vanilla, rosemary and various flowers. Use your favourite fragrance for that daily, feel-good feeling and save other scents for special moments and moods. Choose from mint, coffee, juniper, the warm and exotic notes of sandalwood, or the sensuality of amber and honey.

It’s out with aerosols and in with scented candles, wax burners, oil burners, reed diffusers and incense burners. Today’s backflow incense burners make fabulous centrepieces as the burning incense cones create licks of smoke that look like cascading waterfalls.

With the advent of new technology, smart diffusers are a new way of personalising the aromas in your home. Fitted with LED lights, they can be pre-programmed via a mobile app to release your choice of aromatherapy fragrance as and when you wish.
