Not only does the GranTurismo Folgore showcase the Modena-based manufacturer’s first foray into 100% electric vehicles, but it also celebrates the brand’s heritage by reviving the legendary A6 1500 in its platinum anniversary year. But it is more, much more than a mere revival… it is a 21st-century powerhouse. Three electric motors, fuelled by cutting-edge Formula E-derived silicon carbide (SiC) inverters, unleash a staggering 1,200 horsepower. Paired with an 800-volt battery delivering over 760 horsepower, the Folgore promises a thrilling performance. It’s not just about raw power, though. The Folgore embodies beauty, design, and undeniable elegance, evident even in its captivating launch colour – Rame Folgore. This iridescent shade interacts with light, transforming like a living being and reflecting Maserati’s evolution.
Of course, without an exhaust or intake system, an electric car is characteristically silent. However, the Folgore doesn’t forego something as precious and iconic to its DNA as its signature roar. The digitally sculpted natural acoustics of the electric motors are integrated with a Maserati V8 sound meticulously tuned by sophisticated software and emitted through high-quality speakers (interior and exterior).
Maserati’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond just electrification. The Folgore makes use of Econyl®, a recycled nylon made from fishing nets combined with innovative laser processing and high-frequency leather printing technology, a first for Maserati automobiles.
The new GranTurismo integrates lightweight materials such as aluminium and magnesium with high-performance steel to achieve best-in-class weight levels. The Folgore shares this with its two thermal siblings; Modena, with the 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno Twin Turbo producing 490 hp, and Trofeo, with the same engine but increased to 550 hp.
Beyond its impressive power and performance, the Folgore boasts a variety of truly remarkable features: a staggering acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h. Its 450 km range is further bolstered by the Charging App, which allows you to gain an additional 100 km in just 5 minutes. It is also packed with cutting-edge solutions designed to elevate your driving experience. The Vehicle Domain Control Module (VDCM) provides 360° control, while four distinct driving modes (Max Range, GT, Sport, Corsa) cater to every driving preference. The Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system seamlessly integrates with your digital life, and advanced Level 5 cybersecurity features and over-the-air updates guarantee peace of mind.
