Stargazer: Los Angeles-Tokyo in one hour

Venus Aerospace, an aerospace start-up based in Houston, Texas, is developing the Stargazer – a hypersonic passenger aircraft capable of reaching a speed of nine Mach (about 11,000 km/h) and flying at an altitude of 52,000 m (compared to 11,000 m for commercial airliners). Its aim is to transport twelve people from Los Angeles to Tokyo (8,825 km) in just one hour – a journey that’s currently impossible to complete in less than twelve. Several other hypersonic aircraft projects are already in development at Quaterhorse (military) in the US; Airbus and at Virgin Galactic and Rolls-Royce.
