Biometric passports in use in Singapore

Singapore’s Changi Airport, known to be one of the most technologically advanced airports in the world, has started using biometric data recognition technology to identify passengers. This new system uses facial and fingerprint recognition in addition to electronic ID cards or digital passports. Currently, the pilot program is only in use with Singapore residents. But, once its effectiveness and efficiency are validated, it is expected to be rolled out in other airports worldwide.
