Halloween is knocking at your door. Witches, skeletons, black cats, rats, spiders, cauldrons of bats, and patches of menacingly grinning pumpkins all vie for space, ready to haunt your home. Embrace the dark side of this festival and invite these spooky characters in to help you have fun on 31st October.
Choose a theme for your Halloween decor. Seek inspiration from the Tim Burton aesthetic, The Addams Family, or opt for classic, horror, or something more gory. Remember, though, it is supposed to be a kid-friendly party. There’s a world of Hallowe’en decorations to choose from, whether you prefer schlockingly terrifying or kitsch and cute.
To turn your home into a haunted house, carve terrifying faces into pumpkins to create candlelit jack-o’-lanterns. Hang garlands of ghosts and add other spooky figures, such as cut-out witches flying on broomsticks. For a frightening finishing touch, sprinkle the house with black cats, skeletons, creepy crawlies, and spiderwebs.
Transform a garden into a cemetery by placing mock tombstones covered with moss and zombie hands emerging from the ground. Play with lights to create distorted shadows and add to the scary atmosphere with the strategic placement of scary props. Increase the suspense with sinister sound effects or spooky music to make your guests’ blood run cold!
