Biohacking – Biological DIY

Biohacking, also known as ‘human optimisation’ or ‘Biological DIY,’ is all about taking control of your body and mind to enable you to reach your fullest potential in health, well- being, and efficiency.

At its core, biohacking is the notion of hacking the human body – manipulating it to perform at its optimal best so that it functions more efficiently, more quickly, and for longer. Biohackers aim to monitor both body and mind to improve their health, reduce symptoms, boost energy, aid restful sleep well, maintain a healthy weight, prevent illness, and enjoy a good quality of life over the long term.

Physical exercise is essential, whether it’s walking, swimming, or practising yoga, and can be combined with more intense workouts, such as using vibration platforms. Approaches like intermittent fasting are also popular, alongside advanced techniques that essentially ‘rewire’ the body, including genetic modification or technological implants.

Branches of Biohacking

Nutrigenomics: Studies how food affects our genes, allowing you to personalise your diet based on your DNA.

Technological: Uses devices such as sleep monitors, smartwatches, RFID implants, or glucose sensors to gather real-time data about your body.

Mental or Cognitive: Enhances brain function through meditation, neurostimulation, nootropics (brain-boosting supplements), and mental focus techniques.

Grinder Biohacking: This is a more extreme branch that involves implanting electronic devices to enhance physical or sensory abilities.
