Ibiza-Style Interiors

Ibiza style revolves around white – it’s everything, everywhere. Walls, ceilings, sofas and pale natural textiles reflect light and create spaces that feel open, calm and sun-washed. Weathered wood, linen, cotton, rattan, terracotta and woven natural fibres complete the palette. More than a decorative trend, it suggests a slower, more relaxed way of living.

The look avoids clutter in favour of a few carefully chosen pieces: organic lamps, handcrafted ceramics, baskets and Mediterranean plants. Furniture tends to be low, comfortable and simple. Sandy neutrals, earthy tones and touches of blue evoke the Balearic coast without becoming overtly nautical.

The style draws heavily on traditional Mediterranean homes. Old Ibizan houses were built with whitewashed walls, courtyards, flat roofs and small windows designed to keep interiors cool while maximising natural light. Arab and North African influences also shaped the aesthetic, particularly in the use of shade and water. Later, during the 1960s and 70s, artists, travellers and hippie communities added the relaxed bohemian spirit that still defines Ibiza style today.

There is also a clear similarity with the work of César Manrique in the use of white, open spaces and the integration of architecture with the surrounding landscape. The result is an interior style that feels natural, relaxed and closely connected to its environment
