Origehm is the name of the space created by architect Pilar García Ferrer for Strohm Teka at the latest edition of Casa Décor. Conceived as an open-plan haven for self-care, it feels both protective and calm.
Architect, illustrator and founder of Pilsferrer Estudio, Pilar García Ferrer is the creative force behind Origehm, a name that hints at a return to the origin, to the starting point. This expansive, light-filled bathroom and dressing area is designed with curves and flowing forms that gently envelop and protect the user. Ferrer points to a droplet of water as her primary inspiration: a symbol of life and movement that perfectly balances functionality with beauty.
The generous floor plan is central to the concept, described by Ferrer as ‘its soul.’ The fluid layout allows the space to unfold naturally, with the Origehm tap collection by Strohm Teka taking centre stage. The use of wood and stone adds warmth and a natural ambience that is welcoming and comfortable. The result is a haven for self-care that invites you to linger, surrounded by forms that seem to wrap around you, offering a sense of protection.
Textiles play a key role in building a homely atmosphere. Lightweight fabrics, inviting textures, and abundant natural light reinforce the idea of returning to the origin, and help turn everyday routine into a wellbeing ritual. Carefully selected decorative pieces from antique dealers bring history, identity and understated elegance.
Each element combines tradition and innovation, adding character and continuity to Origehm as a living whole. It is a harmonious space designed to be both seen and felt. Strohm Teka’s tubular brushed-nickel taps achieve versatility through timeless simplicity. The bath, crafted from a soft-touch matt mineral composite, sits elevated on a stone plinth. Positioned alongside a fireplace, it offers an almost indulgent sense of comfort.
Everything starts from a central point, with each area flowing naturally into the next. A curved wall that dips gently downwards leads the eye through the space: the dressing area and vanity, twin shower columns, the bath as a focal point, and a more discreet zone for the bidet and toilet.
The vanity area features a curved wooden unit with twin mineral-solid basins and tubular taps. The showers are thermostatic and equipped with the patented Healthy system, which drains residual water to prevent bacterial build-up and maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
