New Qualcomm XPAN for Android

Qualcomm is set to revolutionise wireless sound with its new XPAN (Expanded Personal Area Network) technology. This innovation combines your smartphone’s Bluetooth and WiFi to deliver crystal-clear, uninterrupted, lossless audio with zero latency and a much longer range. XPAN will also support immersive technologies like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, placing the listener right in the centre of a three-dimensional soundscape. The new Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro WiFi headphones are already equipped to work with XPAN, featuring a state- of-the-art Bluetooth 5.3 chip and a low-power WiFi chip. We can expect to see this technology on the market around September 2026.
