Mobalco at Casa Decor 2025

Architect Ángel Cazorla’s design for the Mobalco Space at the 60th edition of Casa Decor is an ode to Silence and Peace, merging aesthetics and functionality in perfect harmony

Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s words — ‘If you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life’ — Cazorla set out to design a space that feels both balanced and uplifting. ‘I wanted the various objects and materials to dance in unison to the rhythm of a timeless piece of classical music, wafting in through the balconies and bathing the space in shades of rose and orange.’

‘In terms of functionality,’ he continues, ‘I drew inspiration from traditional Mediterranean homes, where the kitchen is the heart of the house. In this design, everything revolves around a large central island that offers different ways to experience the space. It can be a high-performance cooking station, with built-in appliances and tall, vertical units for easy access and everyday comfort, but it can just as easily transform into a comfortable dining area or a stylish lounge — or all of these at once.’ Summing up his vision, he adds, ‘I’ve sought to ensure both aesthetics and functionality flow together even in the finest detail.’

The materials tell their own story too, with natural oak, limestone and hand-crafted ceramics lending warmth and authenticity. But for Cazorla, it’s about more than just appearances. Every detail has been guided by sustainability, weaving together beauty, functionality and ethics to create a space that feels calm and reflective. More than just a design, it’s a declaration.

Cazorla approaches architecture with an emotional sensitivity to proportion and silence, culminating in an almost poetic vision of the meaning of home. This sensibility translates into the kitchen’s clean lines, soft colours, and honest materials that create a space where luxury isn’t ostentatious but serene, intimate, and deeply human. ‘True luxury,’ he reflects, ‘resides in the quality of the space, the emotions it stirs, and the calm it conveys.’

Brands collaborating on this space include: Mobalco (kitchens), Miele (appliances), Cupa Stone (flooring and natural stone worktops), and Tau Cerámica (ceramic cladding).
