2026 – The Most Immersive World Cup Ever.

Major technological breakthroughs are often unveiled at the World Cup and the Olympic Games. And the 2026 World Cup, hosted across Canada, the USA, and Mexico, will see the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and immersive virtual reality. For example, VAR 2.0 promises significant improvements in the speed and accuracy of refereeing decisions. Thanks to advanced algorithms and tracking cameras capable of capturing data 50 times per second, AI will analyse plays in real-time, instantly alerting officials to potential infringements. But that’s not all. The new match balls will be kitted out with cutting-edge internal sensors that capture data an incredible 500 times per second. This data will be processed instantly by AI to create stunning 3D animations using Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) that we’ll be able to see on stadium screens, our smartphones, and during TV broadcasts.
