The full moon hangs overhead like a spectral disc, silently watching as the terror that the island\u2019s first inhabitants feared above all else begins to unfold.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Solitary footsteps echo off the walls of the Iglesia de Guadalupe. Nearby, the walls of the Palacio Esp\u00ednola, now home to the Casa Museo del Timple, stand as silent witnesses to a shadowy presence with eyes as red as infernal lava. It prowls through the old town in search of prey to bring before the unholy altar of its master, Guayota, god of the Underworld.<\/p>\n<p>The beast\u2019s hellish gaze falls upon a slender figure crossing the Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3n. She has been chosen for tonight\u2019s sacrilegious ritual. The merciless predator closes in with cold precision, fully aware of its power and how to wield it. Unaware of the grim fate awaiting her, she walks on towards the archway leading to the street behind the church.<\/p>\n<p>That is the place the hunter has chosen. No one will come to the wretched victim\u2019s aid. And so, as the gates of hell open on yet another Noche de Finaos night, the Tibicena will offer its victim as a sacrifice to the demonic being that created it.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>J.R. Navas.
