Probably the island\u2019s longest established tableau, it will occupy 400 square metres of the esplanade beside the Benito P\u00e9rez Armas Cultural Centre. The scene will recreate the inside of a crater and depict Yaiza\u2019s traditions alongside notable buildings and landmarks from across the island.<\/p>\n<p>Teguise\u2019s municipal nativity scene has also been confirmed for Plaza del Hoyo, opposite La Tahona. In 2026, the town council will complete the third phase of its development, bringing the display to its planned 600 square metres.<\/p>\n<p>For administrative reasons, Arrecife had yet to confirm the location of its municipal nativity scene as this edition went to press. In previous years it has been housed in the Recova Municipal indoor market, while the seafront is another location often favoured by the council. The capital has also introduced some more unusual creations, including the sand nativity scene on El Reducto beach.<\/p>\n<p>Tinajo boasts the island\u2019s most unusual nativity scene. This life-size display in Plaza de San Roque becomes the setting for a live performance on 25 December, brought to life by around twenty-five local residents. The entire production, including the scenery and costumes, is created by staff from Tinajo\u2019s Department of Culture. For the rest of the season, static figures take their place. The initiative won the 2024\u20132025 CILDUN Award, presented each Christmas in recognition of Lanzarote\u2019s finest nativity scenes.<\/p>\n<p>In Har\u00eda, the municipal nativity scene is traditionally installed in Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3n, while nearby Plaza Le\u00f3n y Castillo adds to the festive atmosphere with its Christmas market. San Bartolom\u00e9 also keeps the tradition alive with its handcrafted display and competition for nativity scenes created in local homes.<\/p>\n<p>Lanzarote\u2019s maritime character is celebrated in La Ti\u00f1osa, where Puerto del Carmen traditionally places its nativity scene beside the chapel in the old fishing village. And there is one more island hop to make: La Graciosa. There, the Bel\u00e9n de Pep\u00edn faithfully recreates Caleta de Sebo, complete with its houses, sandy streets, church, school and health centre.<\/p>\n<p>Local residents, hotels and wineries also embrace the tradition. Set amid La Geria\u2019s dramatic landscape, Stratvs has become another unmissable stop.
