Meet the MOTOROiD2 from Yamaha Motor. This striking creation has earned the tuning-fork brand its fifth Red Dot Award, in the Design Concept category. The first thing that catches the eye is its sci-fi silhouette: a prototype that blends electric mobility, artificial intelligence and a bid to humanise the machine.<\/p>\n
First introduced in 2017, the latest incarnation was unveiled in 2023, and as we roll through 2026, it remains a laboratory on wheels, built to test, debate and define the future of motorcycling. To be clear, this isn\u2019t a production model. There are no official performance specs, no production costs, no price tag, and no showroom debut on the horizon anytime soon.<\/p>\n
What it is, in its own odd way, is almost a pet. Thanks to a sensory, haptic interface called LEAF that reads faces and gestures, it can recognise the rider and edge closer when called. Its AMCES self-balancing system keeps it upright without a kickstand, actively managing its centre of mass so it stays steady at a standstill, and very likely, on the move as well.<\/p>\n
