Now, it has pioneered a revolutionary new vehicle category &#8211; the Megacar GT. Compared to the 2020 Gemera and its &#8216;mere&#8217; 1,700 of horsepower, the upgraded V8 supercar is in a realm of its own, with a mind-blowing 2,500 hp. It offers no compromise in comfort or sustainability, as it boasts a hybrid engine and offers seating for four, meaning the megacar experience can be shared with family and friends.<br \/>\nWhile the exterior maintains its sleek, iconic silhouette, the real magic happens under the hood in the shape of its impressive powertrain. The Koenigsegg 2024 swaps out the &#8216;Tiny Friendly Giant&#8217; 600bhp 2.0-litre twin-turbo three-cylinder in favour of a twin-turbo V8 version of the Jesko engine, upsized to 5.0 litres. On its own, it roars with 1749bhp and 2750Nm of torque, but with the addition of its in-house Dark Matter (Raxial Flux) electric motor (replacing the previous model\u2019s three motors) weighing a mere 39kg, the result is a supercar capable of churning out a staggering 789bhp. Koenigsegg employs its patented LSTT Light Speed Tourbillon clutchless gearbox to optimise performance. These figures are based on the use of E85 fuel.<br \/>\nIn addition to the production exterior, Koenigsegg offers customers optional upgrades such as the Ghost Package, which includes a rear spoiler, oversized front splitter, S-Duct and other aerodynamic enhancements to take advantage of the V8\u2019s extra performance. This means the original 200-litre boot space is reduced but is still plenty big enough to accommodate four carry-on suitcases: three in the rear boot and a fourth in the front.<br \/>\nThe Gemera V8 also has a 115-litre fuel tank and retains the 14 kWh 850 V battery, which can cover a range of around 50 kilometres in 100% electric mode.<br \/>\nProduction and assembly start later this year at the newly opened Gripen headquarters in \u00c4ngelholm, Sweden. The 11,000 m2 facility will include development, design, production, office, and showroom space. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2025.
