In fact, they are typically served for Sunday breakfast in the States, as seen in many movies on the big and small screen. The good news is that they\u2019re not only easy to prepare, but versatile too and lend themselves to a range of toppings, including honey, jam, or syrups, as well as whipped cream and fruits of all kinds.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from playing with different toppings, you can get inventive with the basic batter recipe and add oats, seeds, nuts, fruit and other sweet treats or even savoury ingredients like spinach, tomatoes, cheese, ham\u2026 the possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n<p>To make twelve pancakes, you will need 150 grams of wheat flour, a tablespoon of sugar, eight grams of baking powder, a pinch of salt, a glass of milk (200 ml.), an egg and a dessert spoon of butter. Place the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Melt the butter for a few seconds in the microwave. In another bowl, beat the egg together with the milk and add the melted butter. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk well, ensuring there are no lumps. Transfer into a jug to make it easier to pour out the mixture ready for frying.<\/p>\n<p>Take a non-stick frying pan and place over a medium-high heat. Pour the batter until you get your preferred thickness (a saucer size works well), and let the pancake take shape. You won\u2019t need any extra oil in the pan because you\u2019ve already got butter in the batter. Wait for the bubbles to rise to the surface, then flip and cook for a few more seconds. Use this first flip to find out if you need to adjust the heat and cooking time.<\/p>\n<p>The number of pancakes you make entirely depends on how much you pour into the pan!
