The fleet will set off from Marina Lanzarote in Arrecife on Sunday 8th January. Covering some 2,995 nautical miles (5,546.74 km), it is recognised as the longest and most demanding offshore race of the season. The organisers behind this annual challenge are The Royal Ocean Racing Club in association with the International Maxi Association (IMA) and the Yacht Club de France.<\/p>\n<p>Racing under IRC and MOCRA Racing Rules, an impressive fleet of TP52s and The Ocean Race (formerly Volvo Ocean Race), large trimarans, IRC and Class 40s, are expected to participate. Among those already registered are Black Pearl (IRC 56), Beneteau First 47.7 EH01, Global Yacht Racing&#8217;s First (47.7), Icebear, Swan 59, L&#8217;Esprit D&#8217;Equipe (Lionel Regnier&#8217;s prototype), Lorina 1895, Sun Fast 3200, Spirit of Malouen X, Wally 107, Yagiza and First 53.<\/p>\n<p>Like last year, coverage of the competition will be carried out via RORC Social Media: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/rorcracing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@RORCRacing.<\/a> The boats are equipped with a Yellow Brick Tracking satellite tracker (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ybtracking.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ybtracking.com<\/a>), which allows accurate race tracking in real-time.
